Bell Ringers: How They Changed My Life and Why I Can’t Live Without Them

  1. I loved this post! I'm teaching 5th grade ELA this year and only have 90 mins per class. I'm leaning more towards doing the Root Word/Affix of the week. Do you recommend doing this in a notebook or with a piece of a paper for the whole week? Thanks!

Where have you been my whole life!!!!! I love the root/affix bellringer and I LOVE the 8th grade set of bellringers. I am heading over to you TPT store. YAY!!!

  3. Kate says:

    Hi,

I love your ideas! I have 2 classes that switch and I have an extra 15 minutes with my homeroom, so I need something for them to do so they don't get ahead of the other class! Do you find that it takes you a long time to go around and check everyones Bell Ringer? Or do you just give it a casual glance? I have 26 students so I feel like it would take me forever (and I don't want to use student checkers just yet). Also, do you go over the BellRinger when you are done checking them? Thanks so much!

  4. Kim Hartmann says:

I love this idea! Have you done (or do you know of anyone who has done) anything like this for Social Studies? I teach Middle School World History and American History. I love your model!

  5. Do you, by chance, have the time to explain the tabs on the composition books? These bell ringers are almost exactly what I envisioned creating. I *just* took over 6th grade ELA, and I have a million things to do to get on track with classroom management and academic pursuits. Your full year set is a lifeboat! Thank you <3

  6. For the root or affix of the week, do they come up with their own examples or just copy down these examples?
