Teach the 5th Grade CCSS Reading Standards with Novels

  1. This is so great! I want to use it in my classroom next year. I have one question though, do you have class sets of all the novels? Or do you read aloud to the class? Thank you!

  2. Martina says:

    Hi! Thank you so much!

Most the time yes. My teaching partner and I have gotten really good with Scholastic, Donors chose, books sales, borrowing from other teachers and library, etc. We don't always have class set though and we make it work. We are just constantly on the lookout to build our class sets, but we always make do if we don't have them.

I do encourage everyone to have at least one class set of one of these books, so students can get practice with providing evidence.

    Thank you!
